The February MQHYA meeting was held Friday, February 16, 2007 at the equine center in Jackson.
The following members were in attendance: Mamie Tomlin, Kristin Kimble, Camille Wood, Alexandra Knopp, Carley Wigley, Jake Errington, Brooke Ware, Amy Guenther, Abbie Scott, Taylor Dunn, Jeremy Turner, Wyler Burks
The meeting was opened by Youth Adviser Mark Clay and called to order by youth association Vice President Wyler Burks.
Mark Clay opened the meeting by talking about getting the sponsorship forms passed out for the youth show.
Fund raisers were discussed for this year. One that the youth used last year was the celebrity showmanship at the youth show with good results. Another one last year was the victory junction. No decision was made.
It was discussed where to donate money. The places discussed were the Swayze Woodruff Scholarship. Mamie Tomlin made the motion to donate the money to the Swayze Woodruff scholarship. Every one was in favor to donate $500.
The delegates for the AQHYA Leadership Conference in Amarillo are: Vice President, Corresponding and Recording Secretaries and, the Treasurer. Grace (as President) already has a spot to go because she is a director for Region Nine.
Everyone is invited to the Region Nine Leadership Conference, May 11th -13th . If there are two to a room the cost is $245. If there are three to a room then it is $218. If there are four to a room it is $205. There will be a mail out with more information sent to members about this.
Dream Coach gave t-shirts for the Freestyle Reining for everyone to wear while taking up money and ushering spectators to box seats.
Mark went over the instructions for the Freestyle Reining and what everyone's responsibilities were.
Claire Cornett brought up details for the Youth Dance on Saturday night.

THERE WILL BE NO MEETING IN MARCH because of Spring Break. The next meeting will be in April. Date, time and location to be announced.
