The Fort Dodge Small Fry Series is a program sponsored by Fort Dodge Animal Health. It is designed to offer exhibitors 10 and under multiple classes that develop skills and camaraderie inside and outside the show arena.

The Fort Dodge Small Fry classes are held during 5 MQHA Shows throughout the year. Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation, Walk Trot, Horsemanship and Trail classes allow young exhibitors the opportunity to compete with their peers and to develop the skills needed to move into the next level of showing. These classes are not AQHA point earning classes, however, they are designed to prepare young exhibitors for their novice youth and youth AQHA classes in the future.

Fort Dodge Small Fry participants also become active in MQHYA. There are special social activities held throughout the year for small fry exhibitors.

At the year end awards banquet held in January, any small fry exhibitor that participated in 5 shows (5 judges) will receive a participation award; plus, awards are given to 1st through 5th places in each class.

Fort Dodge Small Fry allows your young exhibitor to receive the "big horse show" experience without the pressures and demands. The Fort Dodge Small Fry Program stresses the fun and fellowship that makes horse showing great.


Hey Small Fries! Just wanted to remind everyone about the "Youth Show", Saturday, May 3rd. Mr. Gerald Barnes and Mr. Gary Woodruff will be cooking and selling BBQ chicken plates. All the money that is raised will be given to the youth association. Remember to tell them thank you. Also, if you see Mr. Jeffery Bruce (Katie Bruce's dad), please tell him thank you for our sponsorship from Fort Dodge Animal Health. We could not have our small fry classes without their sponsorship!

We will also have a special surprise set up on Saturday from 5:30 until 7:30. Check the memos around the equine center or ask Mrs. Gay McCann or myself what we have fun for you!!!

Tune those horses up and come have some fun!!!
