The Mississippi Quarter Horse Association is one the most popular futurities in the nation. This tremendous show takes place annually in September at the Fairgrounds in Jackson, Mississippi. The basis for the Futurity is the Stallion Service Auction. A stallion owner donates one of his stallion's services to the MQHA and the association offers it sale. When the stallion service sells, his get become eligible for designated, restricted classes in the MQHA Futurity. These designated classes include weanling and yearling halter, non-pro weanling and yearling halter, a 2 year old snaffle bit class, yearling longe line and a 3 & 4 year old snaffle bit class. Along with the Futurity classes, three AQHA shows take place. These events combine to show the versatility of the American Quarter Horse and its popularity in Mississippi.
